If you already have an undergraduate degree and are interested in primary education, this graduate-entry course will provide the skills and qualifications you need to teach in primary school or work in associated fields such as curriculum planning, educational research or policy development.


This course provides a professional qualification for graduates seeking accreditation as primary teachers (kindergarten to Year 6).

It can be completed in two years full-time after credit for previous studies is granted.

School-based professional experience units offer comprehensive practical learning.

During the professional experience component, you're supervised and assessed by an experienced classroom teacher who acts as a mentor. This practical experience enables you to develop a long-term relationship with your allocated school community.

Graduates are eligible for accreditation to teach in government and non-government schools. This degree is recognised nationally and internationally by education providers.


Students who already have an undergraduate degree and want to proceed to primary teaching.

This degree may also provide a foundation for other careers in associated fields such as educational adviser to government or other agencies, educational policy planner, educational researcher or educator and trainer of adults. Recent school leavers can choose the Bachelor of Arts with the degree of Bachelor of Education (Primary).

You will have your previous studies assessed against the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards' (BOSTES) key learning area content requirements by UAC and the University. Entry requirement for international students

Student must have a Australian level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent; Completion of the relevant New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA) subject content requirements for Primary or Secondary teaching, which will be assessed upon application.

You may satisfy the English language requirements if you have completed: senior secondary studies equivalent to the NSW HSC; one year of Australian or comparable tertiary study in a country of qualification

Academic IELTS of 7.5 overall (with minimum 7.0 in Reading, 7.0 in Writing, 8.0 in Listening, 8.0 in Speaking) or equivalent.
