The Bachelor of Health Science and the major in Exercise will enable you to understand how the human body functions in response to exercise, physical activity and training and the foundations for health professional programs.

Course streams

The Bachelor of Health Science (Exercise) is divided into three major study areas.

The Determinants of Health (Core) Stream introduces students to health promotion principles and provides an understanding of the social, psychological and cultural factors influencing general health and wellbeing.
The Bioscience (Core) Stream provides a background in the structure and function of the human body and explores the concepts of exercise physiology.
The Exercise (Major) Stream provides students with the knowledge in the science of exercise to optimise health, physical activity, and lifestyle management for all people.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants must meet at least One of the following criteria to be considered for admission: A minimum NSW HSC (Higher School Certificate) average of 60 (calculated from the average of the highest 10 units completed) or equivalent; a qualification from a recognised higher education provider; an Associate Diploma, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Tertiary Preparation Certificate from a TAFE or other recognised VET provider qualification (Students wishing to enter through Certificate IV must have completed Year 11 or equivalent); One year full-time or equivalent in a degree course at an Australian university; Satisfaction of entry requirements specified under formal articulation arrangements as determined by the ACPE Academic Board; a recognised overseas qualification with demonstrated proficiency in English; demonstration to the Dean’s satisfaction of good selection prospects as a student (for example, relevant work experience and motivation to study), and ineligibility to complete for admission based on the academic achievement criteria. English language requirements: Academic IELTS overall score of at least 6.5, with a minimum 6.0 in each of the reading, writing, listening and speaking subtests. Specific Requirements: Year 12 High School Diploma + SAT good grades.

For international students

A minimum NSW HSC (Higher School Certificate) or equivalent.

You can apply for entry as a mature age student if: You will be 21 years or older on 1 March of the year you intend to enrol at ACPE.

Academic IELTS overall score of at least 6.5, with a minimum 6.0 in each of the reading, writing, listening and speaking subtests.
TOEFL iBT with a minimum of 85 overall and a minimum of 22 for writing. TOEFL paper based test scores are not accepted.
PTE Academic with a minimum of 61 overall score
Cambridge English Scale (CAE and CPE) – minimum of 176.
