For international students
Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of course commencement. To be eligible for admission, you need to meet at least one of the following requirements: Secondary school: You meet the academic entry requirement if you have completed: An Australian senior secondary certificate, such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC), Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), or another interstate equivalent, or An International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or another recognised overseas secondary school qualification equivalent to Australian Year 12, as listed in the HE – Academic Requirements – International Students (Country Specific Requirements). Higher education or vocational study: You can qualify if you have successfully completed: At least 4 units (equivalent to 0.5 EFTSL) at Diploma level (AQF 5). At least 2 units (equivalent to 0.25 EFTSL) at Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree level (AQF Level 6) or higher or A vocational Certificate IV qualification (AQF Level 4). Tertiary preparation course. You meet the requirement if you have successfully completed a tertiary studies preparation course (such as a foundation program) at an Australian accredited tertiary. institution. The result must qualify you for entry into a bachelors degree at that institution, provided that the degrees entry requirements are not lower than VITs own standards. To be eligible for admission into the Bachelor of Information Technology and Systems course, youll need to meet one of the following mathematics requirements: High school mathematics
You meet the requirement if you have successfully completed mathematics at a level equivalent to Australian Year 11. Higher studies in IT: You also meet the requirement if you have completed a Diploma or higher qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline. Mathematics skills demonstrated by testing or coursework: If you havent completed one of the above, you can still meet the requirement by: Passing the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) Mathematics Level 1 test, or Passing a mathematics test administered by VIT, or Successfully completing the ITSU1012 Mathematics Foundations for IT unit during your first year of the Bachelor of IT (BITS) course.
