What will I learn?

Macquarie has always considered our students to be co-creators in their learning. One of the most exciting developments in our new curriculum is around your ability to study two degrees at once.

In this double degree, you will be able to combine:

Bachelor of Science: You’ll learn from world-renowned researchers who are addressing the big issues facing society in Australia and across the world, such as the changing environment, future materials and fuels, and biotechnology. You’ll be able to study complementary disciplines or non-science units that feed your curiosity. And you’ll be part of a community that has led many significant initiatives in recent years, including early climate change research, photonics, evolutionary biology and groundbreaking research in earth’s crustal systems.
Bachelor of Arts: This degree allows you to turn your passion into a career by exploring your interests in depth, and by honing your skills and knowledge through internships, practical application and expert teaching. No other degree at Macquarie offers as much flexibility and as wide a range of units as the Bachelor of Arts.

KEY FEATURES

Double degrees fast-track your study – you usually complete double degrees one or even two years faster than you would undertaking both degrees on their own. This not only saves you time but money as well.

In addition to in-depth study in?your chosen area, you can?take mathematics, statistics or coding in your first year to give you the modern foundational skills relevant to future workforce needs.
You’ll learn how to put scientific knowledge and skills into practice through working collaboratively on industry- and research-related projects, and you’ll become adept at effectively communicating scientific concepts in multiple modes to a range of audiences.
You’ll have the opportunity to connect with employers and communities via internships, work-integrated learning opportunities and study abroad experiences, which will enhance your employability and international outlook.
