What will I learn?

A Mathematics and Statistics major will provide essential knowledge and transferable skills for students entering careers or research in the following areas: General sciences, Agriculture and environmental sciences, Banking, Finance and Commerce, Engineering, Government, Education, Industry, e.g. logistics/project manager, market research consultant, IT and computing, and Medicine.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

To be eligible for entry to an undergraduate degree you must fulfill all of the following requirements: Complete the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or an overseas qualification equivalent to Australian Year 12. English language requirements: TOEFL - Paper based test - a score of 577 or more including a score of 4.5 in the Test of Written English. Internet based test - a score of 79 and scores of: Writing: 21, Speaking: 18, Reading: 13, Listening 13. IELTS (Academic) - an overall band score of 6.5 or more in the Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS), with no bands less than 6.0. Pearson Test of English (Academic) - an overall score of between 58-64 inclusive and achieve no PTE communicative skills score below 50. Cambridge English: Advanced/Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) - A Cambridge English Score of 176 with no skill below 169.

For international students

Completed secondary education recently (within the past two years)
Completed some or all of a higher education qualification
