What will I learn?

The Bachelor of UX and Web Design provides you with knowledge and skills in web-based design and development specialising in UX for web and dynamic media, incorporating user experience design and theory. The course connects practical coding and digital media skills with the study of human-computer interaction, user behaviour, user experience and user psychology, along with information and media theory, and the study of professional practice in UX and web design workplaces. The course structure incorporates industry-informed briefs, industry mentors, client projects, internship opportunities and study of emerging areas of interaction design practice.

Career opportunities

In your final year you can apply for an internship in a professional interaction design studio, working in professional teams on live projects for real clients. You will graduate with state-of-the-art technical skills and a thorough understanding of user-centred interactive design, preparing you to take on high-level roles as a designer or developer in studios worldwide.

Subjects and units

Each subject involves 10 hours of study per week, comprising 3 hours of facilitated study and 7 hours self-directed study.

International students must not enrol in more than one-third (33%) of online subjects over their course and must study at least one face-to-face subject each study period. Most face-to-face courses are also available online. Please note that due to COVID-19 pandemic, authorities have provided exceptions to the usual face-to-face learning requirements.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) – Academic: Overall 6.0 (min. sub-score 5.5); Test of English as a Foreign (TOEFL) – Paper Based Test: 550; Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – Internet Based Test (iBT): 60-78 (min. 18 in writing); Pearson Test of English (PTE): 50 (no skill score <42); Cambridge English Requirements (B2 First = First Certificate Exam and C1 Advanced = CAE): Overall Cambridge English Scale score of 169, achievable in B2 First or C1 Advanced.
