What will I learn?

Course Overview

Through the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, you will be introduced to working in the field of early childhood. It is the minimum qualification to gain employment in ACECQA approved early childhood services and often the qualification studied for those wanting to begin their career in early childhood education.

Student will learn the importance of being responsive caregivers while respecting diversity, identity and the rights of children. Vocational placements provide students with the opportunity to practice the knowledge and skills as they engage with children. Students are offered a balance between theoretical and practical experience. Our curriculum is current, responsive to the changes in this industry and is designed to provide you with the needed hands-on experience to develop the expertise you need to work with children.

Entry requirements

For international students

This qualification may be accessed by direct entry, Although, It is highly recommended that the student have:

  • have satisfactory numeracy and literacy capabilities
  • are mature age

Additional requirements

Students must have the following before commencing work placement

A current Working with Children Check– Students will be required to complete and pass a Working with Children Check/Police Clearance in the state or territory that they are working in prior to commencing child related work (this includes work placement).

National Police Check

Most qualifications require successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent overseas/ Australian qualifications. Applicants who do not meet these academic prerequisites but have relevant work experience may apply.

English language requirements

  • IELTS band score of 5.5 (academic test version) or TOEFL PBT score of 530 or TOEFL CBT score of 197 or TOEFL;
  • IBT overall score 71 ( No band less than 70) or equivalent
