The successful completion of the Certificate III in Education Support qualifies you to work as a teacher aide or education support worker.

This course has a 100-hour workplace requirement.

Assessment Methods

Assessment for each competency will be through a combination of on-the-job (practicum) and off-the-job tasks. Off-the-job assessment is a combination of class exercises, assignments and practical demonstrations.

Pathways to further study

Successful completion of this course will enable you to apply to enrol in a Certificate IV in Education Support, Diploma of Education Support or a Bachelor of Education.

As a teacher's aide, you will make a difference in the lives of the students you assist. You can work in all schools and community education settings that provide assistance to teachers and students. This work is ideal for parents needing to be home early for school-aged children.

For international students

Academic: Australian Year 12 equivalency

English: Academic IELTS 5.5 with no individual band below 5.0, Pearson PTE Academic 42 overall with no individual communicative skill below 36, or recognized equivalency. TOEFL iBT: 49 overall (Writing: 18, Speaking: 16, Reading: 8, Listening: 7); Cambridge English Scale (Cambridge: First (FCE), Cambridge: Advanced (CAE), Cambridge: Proficiency (CPE)): 162 overall (individual bands: 154); Melbourne Polytechnic: ELICOS - 2+ ISLPR overall individual bands: min ISLPR 2.
