What will I learn?

If you enjoy creating scenes, taking photos and experimenting with new digital technology, then CUA60415 Advanced Diploma of Creative Product Development - Photography is the course to get you started. This course further builds your knowledge in a variety of photographic genres, including domestic, commercial, scientific and artistic creativity.

During your studies you will develop skills in research, illustration, exhibition photography, close up and studio photography. You will also gain expertise in current trends in the rapidly evolving and changing aspects of digital imaging and traditional practice. This course is very practical and hands on and includes creative practice business skills, copyright requirements and client liaison.

Studying photography is not only exciting, it will also open doors to a wide number of career opportunities. After you graduate, you can become a professional photographer in a variety of fields such as commercial, domestic, documentary, portrait and artistic photography. You can also work for a studio or set up your own business.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements vary from country to country. Applicants must have completed the equivalent of Australian year 12.

Completion of CUA50915 Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging is required for entry into this course.

An IELTS score (academic) of 5.5 with no band score less than 5.0 or equivalent.; TOEFL 55 (iBT); Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic – Minimum Level 43; Password score of 5.5; Eiken Grade Pre 1; Successful completion of at least 2 years of study at an acceptable grade in an English medium course completed within the previous 2 years OR GCE O Levels English with 'C'; 'A' or 'B' in Malaysian SPM English or 'C' in 1119 English; Kenyan KCSE English 'C'; International Baccalaureate (IB) Minimum of 3 in English A1 or A2; Completion of the Cambridge First Certificate of English (FCE); Successful completion of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at Upper Intermediate Level or equivalent at North Metropolitan TAFE or a recognized English college.
