What will I learn?

Open up to a world of options. This course is your first academic step towards a rewarding teaching career. It will also give you the skills you need to explore your prospects beyond the classroom.

Be a critical thinker, not a narrow specialist. Alongside a major in Education Studies and a sub-major in Early Childhood Studies, youll have the option to choose an Arts major in Cultural and Social Analysis, English, History and Political Thought, or International Relations and Asian Studies.

When you successfully complete the 16-month diploma from The College, you gain guaranteed entry into the second year of the Bachelor of Arts (Pathway to Teaching Birth-5/Birth-12) at Western Sydney University.

To apply, you wont need an ATAR all youll need are ambition and the determination to work hard. Once youre here, our mission is to make sure you have the supportive learning environment and flexibility to transform your life. That includes smaller class sizes with greater access to one-on-one teaching and support. Our Extended Diplomas also cover extra introductory units that will prepare you for success in your tertiary studies and beyond.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students must have Successful completion of Year 12 or an equivalent qualification.

English Language Requirements: IELTS 5.5 overall score, minimum 5.0 in each subtest; TOEFL internet-based Total 59 score Writing 17; listening and reading 7; speaking 15; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): 42 overall; No communication skills less than 40.
