What will I learn?

The Diploma of Engineering (UniLink) (8 months) is a higher education diploma which provides an alternative pathway to the second year of a bachelor degree. The units are similar to those offered in the first year of a bachelor degree, but classes are smaller and students have more one-on-one time with teachers.

Course description

The Diploma of Engineering (UniLink) (8 months) provides a credit-bearing pathway into a selection of engineering and aviation-related bachelor degrees. The topics covered seek to blend a range of key skills and knowledge required by current and projected industry needs.

UniLink is accredited as an award-level higher education diploma.

Career opportunities

After completion of the chosen bachelor degree, graduates may find employment in a wide range industries and associated areas including project management, project design, project planning and research.

Entry requirements

For international students

If you’re currently in Year 12 or have completed Year 12 in the last seven years, you’ll be considered for admission to undergraduate courses primarily based on whether you have successfully completed the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), or an interstate or international Year 12 qualification.

English language requirements

Satisfactory completion of one of the following:

Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 4 Upper Intermediate level) with overall 65%, all skills 60%

minimum IELTS overall band of 5.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 5.0

TOEFL iBT (internet-based) 50 (no less than 5 in reading, 5 in listening, 14 in speaking, 15 in writing)

Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 42 (no communicative skills less than 36)

any other equivalent assessment of English language proficiency.
