The units are similar to those offered in the first year of a bachelor degree, but classes are smaller and students have more one-on-one time with teachers.

The Diploma of Engineering (UniLink) (8 months) is a direct pathway to second-year university. The units are similar to those in the first year of a bachelor degree, but the classroom environment is different. Classes are smaller and students will have more individual attention from their teachers to help them adjust to university.

UniLink is accredited as an award-level higher education diploma.

Career opportunities

After completion of the chosen bachelor degree, graduates may find employment in a wide range industries and associated areas including project management, project design, project planning and research.

International students in Australia who hold student visas are required to study full-time and on campus. Courses that are taught entirely online are only available to international students studying outside Australia or those in Australia who are not on a student visa. Online courses are not available to international students in Australia who hold a student visa.

Entry requirement for international students

If you’re currently in Year 12 or have completed Year 12 in the last seven years, you’ll be considered for admission to undergraduate courses primarily based on whether you have successfully completed the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), or an interstate or international Year 12 qualification.

English language requirements

Satisfactory completion of one of the following:

Swinburne’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP 4 Upper Intermediate level) with overall 65%, all skills 65%

minimum IELTS overall band of 5.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 5.0

TOEFL iBT (internet-based) minimum score of 65 with no band less than 15

Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 42 (no communicative skills less than 36)

any other equivalent assessment of English language proficiency.
