What will I learn?

Kick-start a career in the visual communication industry, exploring both hand drawn creative concepts and digital skills to produce innovative ideas.

You have an opportunity to learn the foundations, create and refine designs for a range of industry facing briefs and objectives. Develop your knowledge and understanding of digital design, print, typography, commercial branding and packaging.

You can:

  • Study the standalone Graphic Design Diploma in just one year over three trimesters, full time.
  • Use the Diploma as a foundation for a direct pathway into our unique Bachelor of Design Arts degree. After completing the full Diploma, you can get credit for the first three trimesters of the Degree with a major in the aligned discipline.
  • Use the Diploma as an entry pathway to work in the field that you love. We provide extensive career support to help find a position that is right for you.

Graphic Design Diploma Course Objectives

  • Develop and enhance creative skills to benefit further studies in Graphic Design stream or one of the other creative disciplines.
  • Proficiency with a broad range of skills, including: digital design, print, collateral, packaging and commercial branding.
  • Conceptualise, develop and produce technically refined designs to meet a variety of creative briefs.
  • Detailed knowledge of digital tools and design processes that can help achieve advanced design outcomes.
  • Build relationships with industry experts through networking and placement opportunities.

Entry requirements

For international students

  • Evidence of satisfactory completion of VCE or year 12 equivalent or work experience equivalence;
  • is aged 18 and over;
  • Proof of English Proficiency (IELTS score of 6.0 with no skills band lower than 5.5 or equivalent like TOEFL, Pearson Test of English or CAE)
