What will I learn?

Throughout the Diploma of Interior Design and Decoration, you will explore various design processes and learn about materials and finishes while also developing skills in residential and commercial design. Together with other students in the Design Studio, you’ll learn about the principles and trends of interior design and how they fit into the design process, you’ll explore issues of sustainability, and discover ways to design appropriately for a range of clients. You will test-run various design processes and collaborate on exciting projects based in the real world. The design work you produce throughout the interior design diploma will contribute to your professional portfolio – to help you land serious work in this ever-exciting, always evolving creative industry.

Entry requirements

For international students

Overseas Year 12 equivalent applicants who have completed a secondary school qualification from an overseas institution, will have their application assessed by the International Admissions team to determine equivalency with the Australian secondary school certificate.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) – Academic: Overall 5.5 with no skills band less than 5.0; Test of English as a Foreign (TOEFL) – Paper Based Test: 525; Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – Internet Based Test (iBT): 46-59 (minimum 14 in writing); Pearson Test of English (PTE): 43 (no skill score <35); Cambridge English Requirements (B2 First = First Certificate Exam and C1 Advanced = CAE): Overall Cambridge English Scale score of 162, achievable in B2 First or C1 Advanced; Occupational English Test (OET): D.
