What will I learn?

SAE offers you a unique, internationally accredited qualification through hands-on training with the Diploma of Music Industry.

Advance your theoretical knowledge of recording and mixing while following professional considerations of working in the industry. Explore the fundamentals of digital audio workstation (DAW) operations and develop your practical skills in the production of studio sound. Students will truly be mixing it with the industry's best. This program offers you a chance to collaborate with your peers and be a part of a large community of budding audio engineers through SAE's worldwide network.

This course is a career pathway to higher education. Upon completion, you have the option to transfer into our Bachelor of Audio.

SAE has implemented a remote flexible learning option for current and future students. The range of tools developed by SAE will not only allow students to collaborate online but also gain experience in remote working practices widely used within the creative industries.

In this course you will learn all the skills and concepts to record and produce bands in a variety of genres. Learning signal flow on a large format analog console and the microphone techniques used in commercial recordings you will be recording several productions as part of your course.

Mixing

Mixing will also form an integral part of your learning experience and we will illustrate both in the box and mixing on an analog console.

MIDI

Ableton basics and midi programming with virtual instruments, synthesis and sound design will help you incorporate interesting sonic flavour into any type of production.

Post Production

Post Production or Sound for screen is an exciting area of our Industry that includes sound design, foley work. We will show you Audio and how amazing 'monster' sounds are created!

Entry requirements

For international students

Minimum Age

International students seeking admission to SAE must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.

Academic requirements

Applicants must have successfully completed secondary studies (high school)

International students have to provide additional evidence of language skills and complete one of the following:

IELTS Academic: 5.5 overall score. No band score less than 5.0; PTE (Pearson Test of English) Academic: 46 overall score; TOEFL paper-based test: 527 overall score; TOEFL iBT (Internet Based Test): 63 overall score.
