Begin a career in surveying

Because we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to try out university studies, USQ’s Diploma of University Studies is open to everyone.

This diploma will give you an introduction to spatial science and let you examine Geographic Information Systems, Urban and Regional Planning, and Engineering and Spatial Science applications. Develop your study skills and strengthen your knowledge in problem solving, mathematics and physics at a university education level.

Further studies

As a graduate of this program, you will be eligible to apply for direct entry into selected USQ undergraduate spatial science degrees. If you choose to go on to further studies some subjects that you choose could also count as credit toward your undergraduate degree.

Career outcomes

As a foundation diploma graduate, you will be provided with general spatial science knowledge in preparation for a career in a number of areas within the sector. Additional study within this field can further develop your skills and career opportunities.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the following requirements: 18 years or older.

English language requirements

IELTS (Academic only) - 5.5 (or better) (no component lower than 5.0); TOEFL (paper based) - 525 (or better) (with a minimum Test of Written English Score of TWE 4.5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) - 213 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 4.5); TOEFL (internet based) - 70 (or better) (with 18 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) - 50 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 50); Cambridge English Scale Scores for FCE, CAE and CPE3 - Cambridge English: First (FCE)/ B2 First with a score of 162 or above. No less than 154 in each skill.
