What will I learn?

The Graduate Diploma of Project Management [Online delivery] equips professionals with the expertise to manage projects across a range of industries.

This course does more than teach the fundamentals, it prepares you to manage project teams, human resources, budgets and organisational behaviour. You’ll learn about project management in relation to change management, entrepreneurship, risk management, ethics and leadership.

You’ll graduate with the confidence, knowledge and skills to create and communicate professional project management plans. You’ll also have created a pathway to a Master of Project Management.

Aims and objectives

Upon successfully completing the Graduate Diploma of Project Management [Online delivery], graduates will be able to: demonstrate coherent and advanced knowledge of key project management principles, standards and practice; critically evaluate project management theories, methodologies and frameworks in a range of business management, entrepreneurial and industry contexts; critically analyse problems from interdisciplinary perspectives and multiple points of view to establish innovative solutions; communicate in a proficient and professional manner and operate as an effective leader or member of a team; critically evaluate, justify and articulate appropriate responses to ethical issues and dilemmas in project management environments; apply critical thinking to promote new and innovative approaches to project management in various business and entrepreneurial contexts.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students need to have a Undergraduate degree and an understanding of descriptive statistics or Successful completion of the Graduate Certificate of Applied Statistics with a 65% average.

For international students

A recognized bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or

A recognized bachelor’s degree in any discipline PLUS a minimum of two years equivalent full-time relevant professional experience or

A Graduate Certificate of Project Management.

English language requirements

Satisfactory completion of one of the following:

  • Swinburne’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with overall 70%, all skills 65%
  • minimum IELTS overall band of 6.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0
  • TOEFL iBT (internet-based) minimum score of 79 with a reading band no less than 18 and writing band no less than 20
  • Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 58 (no communicative skills less than 50)
  • C1 Advanced - 176, no band less than 169
  • any other equivalent assessment of English language proficiency.
