What will I learn?

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of information and communications technology (ICT) roles who have significant experience in specialist technical skills, or managerial business and people management skills. Individuals in these roles carry out complex tasks in a specialist field, working independently, leading a team or a strategic direction of a business. They apply their skills across a wide range of industries and business functions, or as a business owner (sole trader/contractor). The skills required for these roles may include, but are not restricted to:
• advanced data management information: creating, designing and monitoring complex systems that store data, and optimising organisational knowledge management
• cyber security: protecting sensitive data and information through security architecture, and developing disaster recovery and contingency plans
• full stack web development: building advanced user interfaces, developing representational state transfer application program interfaces (REST APIs) and designing user experience solutions
• further programming: applying advanced ICT languages to maintain security and manage data
• IT strategy and organisational development: managing and communicating strategic ICT business solutions.

About the course

Students will learn a broad range of competencies such as cyber security, full stack web development, Advanced ICT programming languages, IT Strategy & organisational development, and ICT business solution system development.

Credit Transfer

Credit may be awarded on the basis of a combination of Credit Transfer plus an individual RPL assessment for additional learning. For international students, any reduction in overall course duration brought about by RPL/Credit Transfer is reported via PRISMS and an appropriate eCoE issued.

Course Assessment

Trainer/Assessor will use the correct assessment tools to gather sufficient and quality evidence about student performance in order to make the assessment decision based on the qualification training and assessment strategy. Assessment evidence may include but is not limited to: Case Study; Project; Written Report; Written Question; Role Play; Observation/Presentation.

Entry requirements

For international students

There are no pre-requisites for any of the units of competency contained within it. This course is available to all international students and Strathfield College requires that students are able to provide evidence that they:
• Have demonstrated an IELTS level of at least 5.5 or equivalent or the successful completion of at least General English Upper Intermediate or English for Academic Purposes.
• Have successfully completed Australian year 12 or equivalent
• Are at least 18 years old at the date of course commencement; Have a suitable level of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN), to complete course requirements
