The Master of Artificial Intelligence is designed for graduates from all disciplines to complement their existing skills with a solid background in mathematics, data science and computer science, preparing them for advanced subjects in artificial intelligence units. The Master of Artificial Intelligence will produce graduates with specialised knowledge across a range of artificial intelligence technologies and the capability of developing systems around these technologies. Learning outcomes demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the key tools, methods and theories that underpin artificial intelligence technologies with a level of sophistication consistent with advanced professional practice; synthesise information from data and analyse the application of artificial intelligence technology within an organisation; apply complex problem-solving skills and advanced knowledge to implement solutions for real-world problems that incorporate artificial intelligence technologies; communicate effectively with expert and non-expert audiences to understand issues and gather requirements for the development of artificial intelligence technologies and related systems within an organisation; integrate theories and methods related to artificial intelligence, data science and software development by planning and executing an industry aligned research project; critically evaluate information from a range of sources, such as peer-reviewed literature and technical documentation, to assess current developments in the area of artificial intelligence; and demonstrate a sophisticated awareness of the ethical and legal issues that relate to the development of systems that incorporate artificial intelligence technologies.
