About the course
Our 12-subject Master of Commerce is designed for students who already have an undergraduate degree, in any field, from a recognised Australian college or university, or an equivalent international qualification and relevant work experience. Alternatively, you can study our 16 subject master's if you don't have qualifications in this field.
You can choose to tailor your postgraduate degree, with the option to specialise in a specific area or study a range of subjects. Throughout the course you will gain strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills relevant to the business world, leading to a successful career in management, finance, HR, marketing or IT.
What will you study?
You will study 12 postgraduate commerce subjects during this two-year program. You can either choose:
one or more specialisations
or a selection of subjects from a variety of disciplines.

If you successfully complete the Master of Commerce, you may receive credit for up to eight subjects towards the Charles Sturt MBA. If you don’t have an Australian bachelor’s degree in business (or equivalent), you will be required to pass the Graduate Diploma of Commerce before being admitted to the MBA program, with or without credit.
You should declare your plan to continue onto the MBA when you enrol for the Master of Commerce, to make sure you take the correct subjects.

You'll need an Australian bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent bachelor’s degree from another country, to enrol on one of our postgraduate courses.
English language requirement:
If you’re applying for a postgraduate degree, you will need to have an Academic minimum overall score of 6.0. More specifically, you will need to have achieved a score of no less than 6.0 in the writing band and no less than 5.5 in all other bands.
