What will I learn?

The course involves undertaking research methodology training and carrying out independent research projects in banking and finance, working closely with a supervisor who will provide you with individual guidance and academic counselling. The course offers a pathway to a higher research degree and will provide you with the opportunity to demonstrate your advanced research, analytical and communication skills.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) with at least a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.0 on a 7 point scale and a LSAT score of 150+ (taken within 5 years prior to applying for admission)

For international students

Entry level 1: 96 credit points Duration: 2 years full time, 4 years part time

Successful completion of an Australian undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. A distinction grade average (70%) or above for four units (24 credit points) in a relevant discipline at level three is required.

Entry level 2: 48 credit points Duration: 1 year full time, 2 years part time

Successful completion of an Australian undergraduate honours degree (or equivalent) in finance with a high distinction grade average (80%), or a satisfactory substitute that the faculty considers to be equivalent, which has not been used as a basis for entry.

IELTS (Academic): 6.5 Overall score, with minimum band scores: Listening 6.0, Reading 6.0, Writing 6.0 and Speaking 6.0

Pearson Test of English (Academic): 58 Overall score, No PTE communicative skills score below 50

TOEFL Internet-based test: 79 Overall score, with minimum scores: Reading 13, Listening 12, Speaking 18 and Writing 21

Paper-based TOEFL 550 Test of written English: 4.5
