What will I learn?

Good intelligence and intelligence analysis has never been more important than it is now. It can alleviate security concerns and can even save lives. Specialists in intelligence studies are, therefore, in demand by the Australian Government and private sector market, including in corporate intelligence.

Our intelligence and criminology double degree course is practice-oriented and will prepare you with the ability to analyse and design strategies and policies to address domestic, regional and international intelligence challenges. It will also enable you to understand who commits crimes, their motivations for doing so, how society responds to such crime, and how the impact of crime can be alleviated.

You'll have access to experts from around the world with practical experience at all levels in the security and intelligence sectors, each highly respected in their fields and sought after by media.

You will benefit from the strong relationships that the Department of Security Studies and Criminology has with Australian Government agencies working in this field.

Simulated learning which reproduces the multidisciplinary expert panels that are frequently employed by government and industry in response to terrorism, intelligence and security issues will enable you to develop your technical skills.
