What will I learn?

Macquarie has always considered our students to be co-creators in their learning. One of the most exciting developments in our new curriculum is around your ability to study two degrees at once.

In this double degree, you will be able to combine:

Master of Environment: ?This multidisciplinary course will provide you with skills and knowledge regarding the social and biophysical drivers of environmental change, so that as a graduate, you'll be equipped to seek innovative solutions to issues emerging around human-environment interactions.

Master of Marine Science and Management: This unparalleled interdisciplinary and cross-institutional degree will train you to be part of a new generation of Australian marine scientists who have the skills necessary to take leading roles in protecting and conserving coastal and oceanic environments, whilst appreciating and respecting the positions of all stakeholders in this area.

  • Double degrees fast-track your study – you usually complete double degrees one or even two years faster than you would be undertaking both degrees on their own. This not only saves you time but money as well.
  • Combines scientific learning alongside an understanding of the socioeconomic issues related to environmental matters
  • Students learn how to regulate and manage human activities to protect the environment for future generations
  • There's a critical shortage of appropriately qualified professionals with the broad skills required to manage and sustain our marine resources, so as a graduate you'll be in demand.
  • Macquarie has both freshwater and seawater labs on campus, including the excellent Seawater Facility
