What will I learn?

The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is designed to provide an opportunity for students to develop research competence in a limited timeframe. The program duration is 1.5 years full-time or 3 years part-time. After completing qualifying courses and/or concurrent prescriptions, research students undertake original research and prepare a research thesis. This must meet high academic standards and be of publishable quality. Normally the thesis shall not exceed 40,000 words.

Entry requirements

For international students

The minimum requirement for admission to a Master of Philosophy is- A Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline from UNSW; or an equivalent qualification from a tertiary institution as determined by the Faculty Higher Degree Committee (HDC)IELTS - 7.0 overall (min 6.0 in each subtest)TOEFL iBT - 94 overall (min. 25 in writing, 23 in reading, listening and speaking)
