Summary

Assist in the management of environmental issues by completing the Diploma of Environmental Monitoring and Technology.

This course will teach you how to implement sampling plans, prepare for site visits and perform sampling in the field whilst abiding by safety, legislative and enterprise procedures. You will gain hands-on experience at conducting tests both in the field and at site laboratories as well as learn how to prepare samples for laboratory submission. These skills are valuable to most industry sectors to assist environmental scientists, engineers and planners with site assessment, minimising environmental impacts of processes and remediation/rehabilitation of sites.

This course uses a range of different aspects such as field trip activities, lab work, teamwork and online learning to assess your progress. Environmental management is a global concern and studying this course can provide you with the opportunity to assist with the management of environmental issues around the world.

Entry requirement for international students

Entry requirements vary from country to country. Students must have completed the equivalent of Australian Year 12.

English Language Requirements:

IELTS score (academic) of 5.5 with no band score less than 5.0; TOEFL 55 (iBT); Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic - Minimum Level 43; Password score of 5.5; Eiken Grade Pre 1; Successful completion of at least 2 years of study at an acceptable grade in an English medium course completed within the previous 2 years OR GCE O Levels English with 'C'; 'A' or 'B' in Malaysian SPM English or 'C' in 1119 English; Kenyan KCSE English 'C'; International Baccalaureate (IB) Minimum of 3 in English A1 or A2; Completion of the Cambridge First Certificate of English (FCE); Successful completion of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at Upper Intermediate Level or equivalent at North Metropolitan TAFE or a recognized English college.
