This course develops your practical skills in patternmaking, merchandising, marketing, retail buying, supply chain management, product development and management of fashion design systems; training you in the requirements and skills needed to become a fashion designer, pattern maker or to work in a design management environment.

To successfully complete this course, you will be required to undertake a compulsory work placement which will be arranged for you by the college. Detailed information about work placement will be provided at orientation.

Entry requirement for international students

Entry requirements vary from country to country. Applicants must have completed the equivalent of Australian year 12.

English Language Requirements:

IELTS score (academic) of 5.5 with no band score less than 5.0; TOEFL 55 (iBT); Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic – Minimum Level 43; Password score of 5.5; Eiken Grade Pre 1; Successful completion of at least 2 years of study at an acceptable grade in an English medium course completed within the previous 2 years OR GCE O Levels English with 'C'; 'A' or 'B' in Malaysian SPM English or 'C' in 1119 English; Kenyan KCSE English 'C'; International Baccalaureate (IB) Minimum of 3 in English A1 or A2; Completion of the Cambridge First Certificate of English (FCE); Successful completion of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at Upper Intermediate Level or equivalent at North Metropolitan TAFE or a recognized English college.
