What will I learn?

Richard Wright, the Head of Junior School, leads the Junior School Pastoral Care team. He is supported by the Deputy Head of Junior School – Pastoral Care and Operations, Vernita Jaques, and the team of homeroom teachers. The homeroom teachers spend most of their time in contact with your children, and know them well. They also maintain contact with Specialist teachers regarding pastoral and academic matters. Richard, Vernita and the team look forward to working together with you to support your children in the best way possible. Jenny Rickwood is the Deputy Head of Junior School – Teaching and Learning. Jenny meets regularly with homeroom teachers and Specialist teachers to discuss and plan content and approaches to teaching, and to track academic progress.

PLC Perth has superb facilities, however, our programmes are what we are most proud of. We continuously innovate, driven by what is relevant to our students, as well as providing them with the skills they will need beyond school.

Below you will find some of the programmes we offer to Pre-Primary – Year 2 students.

Co-Curricular

After school, we offer exciting and varied co-curricular programmes for our Pre-Primary to Year 2 students. Activities such as Performing Arts, Music, Dance, Gardening and Homework Club. Most activities allow for an afternoon tea break and are supervised until 5.00 pm. By using PLC teachers to run these activities, the girls feel known and the activities are meaningful.

Year 3 – Year 6

Their learning is informed by timely feedback, ongoing assessment and self-reflection. Student choice, flexible grouping options and the provision of a range of challenges build confidence and develop courage.
