What will I learn?

This course will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge you need to produce a range of patisserie products. You will learn how to produce pastries, desserts, cakes, chocolate and petit fours; applying knowledge of food safety programs, and workplace health and safety standards. On successful completion of the course you will have the skills to work as a patisserie or pastry chef in a patisserie, restaurant or hotel.

Entry requirements

For international students

Entry requirements vary from country to country. Students must have completed the equivalent of Australian Year 10.

English Language Requirements:

IELTS score (academic) of 5.5 with no band score less than 5.0; TOEFL 55 (iBT); Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic - Minimum Level 43; Password score of 5.5; Eiken Grade Pre 1; Successful completion of at least 2 years of study at an acceptable grade in an English medium course completed within the previous 2 years OR GCE O Levels English with 'C'; 'A' or 'B' in Malaysian SPM English or 'C' in 1119 English; Kenyan KCSE English 'C'; International Baccalaureate (IB) Minimum of 3 in English A1 or A2; Completion of the Cambridge First Certificate of English (FCE); Successful completion of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at Upper Intermediate Level or equivalent at North Metropolitan TAFE or a recognized English college.
