What will I learn?

This Diploma follows on from SIT40416 Certificate IV in Hospitality and focuses on the skills and knowledge required to manage effectively in the hospitality industry, including leading a diverse team. During your studies, you will learn about financial management, regulatory compliance, rostering, stock purchasing and control, how to provide quality customer service, manage workplace conflict, and workplace health and safety.

When you complete your studies, you will have gained “job ready” in demand practical skills that will help you pursue your career in this growing industry. You can also continue your studies for a further 6 months, by enrolling into SIT60316 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management.

Entry requirements

For international students

Entry requirements vary from country to country. Students must have completed the equivalent of Australian Year 12.

Completion of SIT40416 Certificate IV in Hospitality OR SIT40516 Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery OR SIT40716 Certificate IV in Patisserie is required for entry into this course

IELTS score (academic) of 5.5 with no band score less than 5.0; TOEFL 55 (iBT); Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic - Minimum Level 43; Password score of 5.5; Eiken Grade Pre 1; Successful completion of at least 2 years of study at an acceptable grade in an English medium course completed within the previous 2 years OR GCE O Levels English with 'C'; 'A' or 'B' in Malaysian SPM English or 'C' in 1119 English; Kenyan KCSE English 'C'; International Baccalaureate (IB) Minimum of 3 in English A1 or A2; Completion of the Cambridge First Certificate of English (FCE); Successful completion of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at Upper Intermediate Level or equivalent at North Metropolitan TAFE or a recognized English college.
