What will I learn?

Develop career-based skills in journalism, social media and content creation, earning both a university degree in Media Studies with an Option in Creative Writing, and a college diploma in Journalism/Mass Media – all in just four years.

This integrated degree and diploma program offered by Trent University Durham GTA and Durham College gets students career-ready with practical media production experience gained in college, and crucial critical thinking and writing skills developed in university. Through an emphasis on hands-on learning, you’ll gain new confidence building a strong portfolio of work that will help launch your future journalism, broadcasting and media.

Entry requirements

For international students

Student must complete High School diploma (or equivalent) qualification.

English Language Proficiency Tests:

  • TOEFL: minimum score of 86 IBT with a minimum writing score of 20.
  • IELTS: minimum score of 6.5, with no band below 6.0
  • CAEL: minimum score of 60
  • Cambridge B2 First, C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency (Certificate of Advanced English): 176, with no sub-score below 169
  • Pearson PTE Academic: minimum score of 59.
  • The Duolingo English Test score of 115
