What will I learn?

Trents multidisciplinary Media Studies program helps you understand the culture behind the media we consume, focusing on the impact media has on us all. This hands-on program features a variety of course options in the arts and sciences, providing opportunities to examine the influence of advertising and ideology, the political economy of media corporations, the foundations of media arts, and the ecological impact of media technologies. Practical experience is a major component of this degree, with workshop courses in everything from game design and music production to podcasting and photography.

Entry requirements

For international students

Student must complete High School diploma (or equivalent) qualification.

English Language Proficiency Tests:

  • TOEFL: minimum score of 86 IBT with a minimum writing score of 20.
  • IELTS: minimum score of 6.5, with no band below 6.0
  • CAEL: minimum score of 60
  • Cambridge B2 First, C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency (Certificate of Advanced English): 176, with no sub-score below 169
  • Pearson PTE Academic: minimum score of 59.
  • The Duolingo English Test score of 115
