What will I learn?

The first of its kind in Canada, our Bachelor of Arts (BA) in International Education Studies is your pathway to teach in international schools or pursue education-related work in other fields.

Courses are taken from the Faculty of Education and Department of Global Studies, as well as in languages and gender studies, to build global awareness, cultivate intercultural competencies, and learn teaching philosophies and approaches specifically for international settings.

Program Highlights

Learn teaching approaches and philosophies specific to working in international settings.
Have the option of earning a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
Engage in hands-on learning through two mandatory placements in local and international communities.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students must have completed an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent qualification. English language requirement: Internet-based testing (TOEFL iBT): an overall score of 83 or higher with a minimum score of 20 in each component; Paper-based testing: 560 overall, IELTS: An academic score of 6.5 or higher with a minimum of 6.0 in each band, PTE: 59 overall or higher, CAE: Overall score of 176.
