If you choose the world-class Ryerson film program, you will learn technical and storytelling skills that will lead you to be able to make short and long films: documentaries, fiction films and experimental films. You will learn by doing, working with your classmates to produce professional-level work. You will gain experience in all aspects and areas of filmmaking: cinematography, sound, editing, writing, producing and directing. At the same time, you will learn film history and the theories that will help you watch films with more insight.

This is a Grades-Plus program. In addition to academic requirements, this program requires non-academic requirements that will be evaluated alongside students’ academic achievement/grades.

Entry requirement for international students

Applicants educated outside of Ontario must submit evidence of education equivalent to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six Grade 12 U or M courses. It is essential that subject prerequisite requirements and grades for specific Ryerson programs form part of the academic background of applicants from outside Ontario, especially in the last two years of secondary school studies.

English language requirements:

IELTS: 6.5, TOEFL: 92-93, Paper-based TOEFL score of 580; MELAB score of 85; CAEL score of 70 and PTE score of 60.
