TWU’s Education Assistant Program combines theoretical knowledge with supervised, practical experience in schools, preparing you to understand and support the diverse learning needs of K–12 students both confidently and competently. Taught from an integrated worldview, TWU’s EA Program views exceptional children as created in God’s image. With this mindset, you are encouraged to view the education assistant role as both a career and calling. The in-person cohort model begins in September and is taught in a rigorous, liberal arts manner in keeping with the University’s highest academic standards. The certificate equips you to join the job market after only one year of full-time studies or after two years in the part-time offering. If you’re interested in pursuing the BA/BEd program, a unique feature of TWU’s EA certificate is the opportunity for you to ladder one of four courses (three general education credits) into the bachelor’s degree.
