The new Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation (EBI) certificate is a distinctive program MITT has developed in partnership with the Manitoba Tourism Education Council (MTEC). MTEC delivers 10 months of occupational-specific, career development and technical courses in a classroom location in MTEC’s facility (Unit 3 – 75 Scurfield Blvd). Upon successful completion, students will receive the MITT credential. At the end of the program, MTEC will connect students with their numerous employer contacts for an unpaid work practicum.
Upon graduation, students will receive an MITT certificate and will be equipped with the transferable skills required for business innovation and entrepreneurship employment in multiple sectors. Students will also have the opportunity to receive the industry-recognized certificate Manitoba Service Excellence.
This program, held at MTEC’s facility, also includes:
4 hours of class time per day (Monday to Friday) for non-work practicum courses

Work practicum
Qualifying students apply skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills during a mandatory full-time, four-week work practicum with a local business/employer arranged by the Manitoba Tourism Education College. As per IRCC, students must have a co-op work permit to be eligible for the work practicum. It is the student’s responsibility to apply for the co-op work permit at least four months before the practicum begins.

High school diploma (or expected completion within 45 days of the program start date) or equivalent. International applicants must meet the general entrance requirements based on the country/curriculum of study. Applicants must also meet the program-specific requirements, including:
Senior Level First Language Literature with a grade of 50 per cent or higher, or equivalent.
All high school grades will be converted to an equivalent Manitoba grade scale.
Students also must be 18 years of age or older by the official start date of the program.
