What will I learn?

The new Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation (EBI) certificate is a distinctive program MITT has developed in partnership with the Manitoba Tourism Education Council (MTEC). MTEC delivers 10 months of occupational-specific, career development and technical courses in a classroom location in MTEC’s facility (Unit 3 – 75 Scurfield Blvd). Upon successful completion, students will receive the MITT credential. At the end of the program, MTEC will connect students with their numerous employer contacts for an unpaid work practicum.

Upon graduation, students will receive an MITT certificate and will be equipped with the transferable skills required for business innovation and entrepreneurship employment in multiple sectors. Students will also have the opportunity to receive the industry-recognized certificate Manitoba Service Excellence.

This program, held at MTEC’s facility, also includes:

4 hours of class time per day (Monday to Friday) for non-work practicum courses

Industry experienced instructors

Free parking

Complimentary coffee, tea, water (daily basis)

Work practicum

Qualifying students apply skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills during a mandatory full-time, four-week work practicum with a local business/employer arranged by the Manitoba Tourism Education College. As per IRCC, students must have a co-op work permit to be eligible for the work practicum. It is the student’s responsibility to apply for the co-op work permit at least four months before the practicum begins.
