What will I learn?

Start your career in the emerging field of genomics. This program integrates molecular and cellular-based strategies to study the structure, function and regulation of an individual's genomic legacy. Learn to apply techniques such as genotyping and next generation sequencing to unlock the power of the genome. An emphasis will be placed on understanding the pathogenesis of diseases and learning how genetic variation interacts with an individual's environment, nutrition, and lifestyle. Canadores new innovative genomics laboratory is equipped with some of the most leading-edge technology in Canada including two DNA sequencers that provide the capacity for research in areas such as pharmacology, addictions, and disease prevention.

Entry requirements

For international students

Ontario College Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Degree, or equivalent in the following areas:

Biotechnology diploma program (2- or 3-year); undergraduate health science degree program; or, be a licensed health care provider (e.g. MD, ND, RPH, RN, CN, DMD, DC).

English Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • IELTS: 6 no band less than 5.5
  • TOELF IBT: 79 + with minimums of 20
  • TOELF Paper based: 550+
  • PTE Pearson Test of Academic English: 51+
  • CEFR Common European Framework of References for Languages / Cambridge Assessment English: B2
  • CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language): 60
  • Cambridge English Exams - Advanced: 170+
