What will I learn?

Build on your diploma in human resources with this human resources advanced diploma program. You’ll acquire and demonstrate industry-standard skills and dive deeper into core HR functional areas: recruitment and selection, training and development, human resources planning, occupational health and safety, HR management, compensation and benefits and labour relations. You’ll also have the opportunity to apply to further develop your consulting skills with the option of substituting two courses for the intensive community consultancy program, working with live clients to solve real problems.

Your Learning Experience: Students who have completed the two-year human resources diploma program can continue for a third year to earn an Ontario College Advanced Diploma in business administration human resources. This program is also available part-time. Upon completion, students will have a sound base in analytical skills, professional communication, leadership and dispute resolution. The program has a number of experiential learning opportunities for in-class students (e.g., mentorship, HR Community Consultancy), where students interact with human resources professionals in the field. Students also have the opportunity to complete all nine Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP)/Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) credits. Refer to the Human Resources Professionals Association website for more information. Graduates who meet admission requirements are also eligible for transfer to the Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Human Resources Management) degree. You can also be eligible to complete a degree program at many other post-secondary institutions or complement your advanced diploma with a graduate certificate offered at Fanshawe College; Please note, this program requires a laptop. It is recommended that students use a PC laptop vs. a Mac laptop, as Windows is required to be able to load program-specific software. For more information on specific requirements, visit the Laptop Requirements page on the Fanshawe CONNECTED website.
