What will I learn?

As an electromechanical engineering technologist, youll have a deeper understanding of automation and robotics than graduates of our two-year Electromechanical Engineering Technician program. Enhance your knowledge with courses in programmable logic controllers, robotic programming and applications, electropneumatics, fluid power, HVAC, computer integrated manufacturing, 3D modelling and more.Prove yourself to employers before you even graduate In your final semester, youll work with fellow engineering students on a capstone project that provides solutions for our industry partners. You can also apply for a paid co-op work placement that provides one year of real-world experience. Some of our students have been hired as a direct result of their capstone or co-op participation.Career OpportunitiesElectromechanical engineering brings together the concepts and principals of both electrical and mechanical engineering. Most modern engineering products rely on the concepts from both of these engineering fields.

Entry requirements

For international students

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including these required courses:

One English, Grade 12 (ENG4C or ENG4U) plus

One Math Grade 12 (U) or Math Grade 12 Mathematics for College Technology (MCT4C) or Math Grade 11 Functions (MCR3U) or Functions and Applications (MCF3M) or

Mature student status.

IELTS - overall score 6.0 with no individual band below 5.5

TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and TOEFL iBT Home Edition (DI Code: 9117) - overall score 80 with no individual section below 20

iTEP Academic - overall score 3.7

PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) online or in person - overall score 58 with no individual section below 49

Duolingo English Language Test - overall score of 105 with no individual subscore lower than 85

Cambridge English Test Exams (B2 First/C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency score) - overall Cambridge English Scale score 169 with no individual score below 162

CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language) online or in person - overall score 60 with no individual section below 50

Sheridan EPA test - Listening Band - 4.0 Reading Combined Band - 4.0 Writing - CLB 7

Sheridan's ESL program EAP level - A minimum score of 70% in listening and speaking and 70% in reading and writing. General Education courses and Navigating Digital Environments (INFO) minimum required grade of 50%.
