What will I learn?

Are you interested in welding robotics, metal fabrication and welding engineering? Would you enjoy hands-on learning in a state-of-the-art facility? This program might be right for you! In this dynamic three-year advanced diploma program, you will gain a balanced education in welding engineering technology, combined with practical work in the metal fabrication, welding, robotics, metallurgical, and non-destructive testing laboratories. As a graduate of this program, you are eligible to apply directly for certification under CSA W178.2 as a Level 1 Welding Inspector. The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) conditionally recognizes this program as meeting all the academic requirements for certification in the Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) category. This program also covers all the learning outcomes for Level 1 of the Welder (456A) and Metal Fabricator – Fitter (437A) apprenticeship programs in Ontario. If you decide to pursue an apprenticeship in either trade, you may be exempt from this level of in-school training. The optional co-op stream includes four consecutive four-month co-op work terms.
