Summary

The Post-Degree Diploma in Financial Planning covers the fundamentals of financial management and personal finance. Students learn financial services marketing, Canadian securities, wealth management and more. Graduates of the program qualify to challenge the Level 1 Certified Financial Planning exam. The required CFP courses are:

  • FINC 3350 or 3390
  • BUSN 3730
  • ACCT 3370
  • FINC 3300
  • FINC 4340 or 4360.

Entry requirement for international students

Bachelor or Master degree with an average of C or equivalent

All applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency by providing ONE of the following:

• TOEFL - Minimum score 83 IBT (minimum 20 in all sections) (Douglas College’s institutional code is 9568)

• IELTS - Minimum overall band test score of 6.5 (no band below 6.0) (Academic Module only)

• Pearson Test of English (PTE) - Minimum score of 56 (Academic Module only)

• International Baccalaureate (IB) English Language A (Standard Level) - Minimum grade of 3 or C

• Proof of undergraduate (bachelor) degree from a post-secondary institution where English is the language of instruction (in a country where English is the official language)

• Completion of the Douglas College English Language and Learning Acquisition (ELLA) Program
