What will I learn?

LEARN BUSINESS IN A GLOBAL FINANCIAL CENTRE

Our Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance (BBA[Acc&Fin]) are offered under the same programme code. BBA undergraduates combine functional training with communication skills, computer analytics, and other sciences or social sciences subjects. BBA(Acc&Fin) students will prepare for a professional qualification in accounting and a leadership role in finance with our broad-based programme.

What You’ll Study

As a BBA student, you can choose a major in one of five areas, including entrepreneurship, design, and innovation; finance; human resources management; information systems and analytics; or marketing. You are also eligible to declare a second major or combination of minors provided you meet the requirements. The BBA (Acc&Fin) programme will prepare you for a professional qualification in accounting.

The School offers two BBA dual degree programmes in collaboration with leading universities Sciences Po in France and the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada. Spend two years in Le Havre, Menton, or Reims followed by two years in Hong Kong to earn a BBA degree from HKU and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Sciences Po. Alternatively, spend your first and final years in Hong Kong and your second and third years in Vancouver to earn a BBA from HKU and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) from UBC.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education/HKCEE/HKALE or equivalent. English Language Requirement: IELTS - An overall band of 6.5 in IELTS Academic Module; TOEFL - A score of 93 in the TOEFL internet-based test, or an overall score of 70 in the revised TOEFL Paper-delivered Test; Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English / Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English - Level C1 or an overall score of 180 in Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English; or Grade C or an overall score of 180 in Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English. IB score will vary according to the program selected.

For international students

Competitive Admission Standards:

  • An International Baccalaureate Diploma with 35 points out of 45 or equivalent
  • GCE A-Level / International A-Level: Candidates should present at minimum of 4 A-level subjects 2A 2B, Students with 3 A-level Subjects: 3A.
  • SAT Reasoning Test / ACT plus Writing and SAT Subject Test / Advanced Placement Test: Candidates should have completed - Redesigned SAT: 1350; SAT Subject Tests: 600 in each of the 3 subjects; AP Exams: Level 3 in each of the 3 subjects or equivalent

You must achieve at least one of the following English Language Requirements to be considered for admission to HKU.

International Baccalaureate Diploma

GCSE / GCEO

  • Grade C in English Language at GCSE/GCEO;
  • Grade C in English First Language at IGCSE; or
  • Grade B in English as a Second Language at IGCSE

Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English / Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English

  • Level C1 or an overall score of 180 in Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English; or
  • Grade C or an overall score of 180 in Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English

SAT Reasoning Test: Sub-scores of 550 in both Critical Reading and Writing in the same attempt of the SAT Reasoning Test (prior to March 2016); or Test scores of 31 in Writing and Language and 30 in Reading in the same attempt of the Redesigned SAT Reasoning Test;

IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 in IELTS Academic Module;

Total of 93 with sub-scores of 22 in each of the sections.
