Aims of the Major

  • BBA Information Management (IFMG) aims to prepare students to become smart business professionals for financial services, auditing and Internet services;
  • Our students have flexibilities of choosing streams from Business Intelligence (BI), Information Systems Auditing (ISA), Internet Services and Social Networks (ISSN);
  • Our graduates are equipped with adequate knowledge and skills in social media, mobile apps, big data/artificial intelligence, and cloud services for business innovation;
  • They are in high demand in business sectors like financial and professional services (e.g., auditing, banking and FinTech), with great careers of the future.

There are three streams in BBA IFMG:

  • Business Intelligence (BI) – Database management, business programming, big data and data visualization, business intelligence and analytics, systems analysis and design, and project management
  • Information Systems Auditing (ISA) – Information security and privacy, cybersecurity for business, governance and regulatory compliance for financial information systems, information systems audit, and risk management
  • Internet Services and Social Networks (ISSN) – Social media and social networks, O2O services, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), digital marketing and customer relationship management, project management

Our graduates find jobs as business managers, technology business investors or project managers in global investment, consulting, and technology firms (e.g., HSBC, BOC, PWC, EY, Apple, Alibaba, IBM, Accenture, etc.).

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants must hold a US High School Diploma AND a minimum score of 1190 (out of 1600) on the new SAT / 1650 (out of 2400) on the old SAT or 24 composite on the ACT, or grade 3 in two subjects in the Advanced Placement (AP) Test for admission to first-year studies. English Language Requirements: a TOEFL Minimum total score 550 on the paper-based test / 79 on the Internet-based test; IELTS: Overall band score of 6.5 or above; Cambridge ESOL Examinations: One of the following: Grade C or above in Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE); Grade C or above in Certificate in Advanced English (CAE).

For international students

Applicants are required to have 12 or 13 years of schooling (primary and secondary). To be eligible for consideration for admission, applicants should have attained the minimum grade specified, or where a grade is not specified, an acceptable pass. Entry requirements vary country by country.

Applicants who obtained their entrance qualifications in a language other than English will need an acceptable result in an approved English qualification. The following qualifications are accepted as proof of English language proficiency:

  • TOEFL: Minimum total score of 79 in the Internet-based test
  • IELTS: Overall band score of 6.5 or above
  • Cambridge ESOL Examinations - One of the following: Grade C or above in Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE); Grade C or above in Certificate in Advanced English (CAE).

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
