This programme is aimed at educating students as competent engineers who can design, maintain and retrofit both new and existing buildings, by providing technical knowledge of structural engineering and both active and passive fire protection technologies.

Professional Recognition
Full accreditation of the programme by The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) will be sought. Graduates of this programme will then be qualified for Scheme A training in both the Structural Discipline and the Fire Discipline of HKIE.

Our graduates are well-prepared for employment as engineers and can receive good salaries in both the public and private sectors.

Students must have completed Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) or equivalent in their countries.
GCE A-level / International A-level: GCE Advanced Level or International Advanced Level with passes in 3 AL, OR 2 AL and 2 AS subjects
International Baccalaureate (IB): A minimum score of 24 with at least grade 4 in 2 Higher Level subjects.
Non-local applicants are required to meet the following English language requirement:
A Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 80 for the Internet-based test or 550 for the paper-based test; OR
An overall Band Score of 6 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
