This programme’s contemporary learning process is designed to create well-rounded graduates with a solid foundation in engineering and expertise in their chosen specialisation. Spend your first year acquiring a core set of requirements and experiences alongside all first-year engineering students. This is your first step towards choosing your desired study programme, subject to academic performance.

What You’ll Study

Under the common admissions scheme, the curriculum structure for the first academic year is common to all BEng students.

Students can opt for minor options in other engineering disciplines offered by the Faculty of Engineering or those offered by other faculties, subject to the requirements of respective minor options.

Academic advising is in place to guide students for their course selection, programme selection and career planning.

Exciting Opportunities

Students will build solid foundations in engineering through active learning, capstone experience, hands-on activities, internship, exchanges studies and service learning, which prepares them to pursue any engineering discipline in their studies.

Professional Recognition

Following graduation, you will be eligible to apply for professional recognition with the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).
