The BBA in Professional Accountancy (PACC) program nurtures professional accountants and specialists in accounting-related areas. PACC program focuses on developing students’ analytical, problem-solving, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills and values, which help them, deal with the increasingly complex and inter-connected business world effectively so as to become future leaders in the accounting and business community.
In response to an increasing interest of our students to know more about tax and governance issues as well as the profession’s desire to have more accounting graduates who are better versed in these areas, a new Global Tax and Governance (GTG) stream is offered starting from 2016-17. Courses offered by the GTG stream include International Taxation, China Taxation, Taxes and Business Strategy, Corporate Governance, Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring, Securities Regulation and Chinese Legal Environment for Business.
PACC program offers students many options in taking minors to broaden their scope of studies, including Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Computer Science, Journalism and Communication, Finance, Psychology and Modern Languages. There are ample opportunities for students to join exchange and internship programs; and to apply for scholarships.
PACC program is highly recognized by international professional and accreditation bodies such as the AACSB International, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the CPA (Australia). All PACC graduates are eligible to apply for the Qualification Programme of the HKICPA, or to take other professional examinations.
