The rapid and ongoing transformation of the cultural landscape and economic environments in a globalised world presents enormous challenges to educational and artistic leadership in areas such as policy making, innovative programme/curriculum development and interdisciplinary learning. This area is designed to provide stimulating opportunities for students to be engaged as lifelong learners with exciting research projects and significant global trends in creative arts education – music / visual arts. Discussion of current and emerging issues including arts-based research, evidence-based and research-based teaching and decision making, change leadership, cultural entrepreneurship and brain-based learning emphasize the vital role of creative arts leadership in the 21st century.
