Programme Aims and Objectives
The EdD programme is aimed at experienced educators and professionals in education settings who aspire to extend their expertise in a particular Specialized Area, and their professional knowledge in a broad range of educational contexts through core courses.

Health Studies
The degree of Doctor of Education (EdD) in Health Studies emphasizes the development of advanced competencies in conducting medical and health related research. The programme aims to develop student competencies in formulating informed decisions and strategies to address management and policy issues in health-related settings, and, by doing so, prepare graduates for leadership roles in health promotion and health care education. Graduates will be able to integrate theory, research and practice in making recommendations in lifestyle changes at the personal and the community level.

Applicants should normally hold a Master’s degree in the discipline of education or a cognate field relevant to their chosen Specialized Area, plus four years’ professional experience. Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate a high standard of competence in spoken and written English. Applicants with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a university where the programme was not taught and assessed in English are normally required to demonstrate competency through one of the following minimum English language requirements:
