EARN A GLOBAL OUTLOOK IN BUSINESS AND ENGINEERING
Jointly offered by the Faculty of Engineering and the HKU Business School, this interdisciplinary double degree programme will equip you with professional knowledge in both engineering and business within a global context. Upon completion of the five-year programme, you will earn a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng)/Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering (BEng(BME) and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).
What You’ll Study
Students will undertake the first four years of study focusing in BEng or BEng(BME) curriculum, with a number of courses in Business. On successful completion of the degree of BEng or BEng(BME) with a Second Class Honours and the prescribed Business courses, students may proceed to the fifth year of study leading to the degree of BBA, in one of the following majors:
Major in Entrepreneurship, Design and Innovation

(Note: Major in ISA is not open to candidates of BEng in Computer Science)

Professional Recognition
All BEng programmes now being offered under the code 6937 are accredited by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).
Graduates of the BBA programme are eligible for earning the Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMA), with part of the CIMA examinations exempted, provided that they have completed all required subjects specified in the CIMA mapping guidance.
Career Prospects
The majority of BEng graduates will work in the engineering sector, with other students serving the societies in the business, education, social and community sector. Around 9% of the BEng graduates will pursue further studies in Hong Kong or overseas. At the same time, as BBA graduates, student can also pursue a career in fields such as accounting, advertising, banking, brand management, customer relationship management, finance, human resource management, information systems, investment, marketing research and marketing management.

Admission Standards:
Fulfill one of the following English Language Requirements:
An overall band of 6.5 in IELTS Academic Module (within 2 years after the test date)
A score of 93 or better in the TOEFL internet-based test/ TOEFL iBT Home Edition, or 583 in the TOEFL paper-based test, or an overall score of 70 in the revised TOEFL Paper-delivered Test (October 2017 onwards) (within 2 years after the test date).
PTE A: A score of 64 in the Pearson Test of English Assessment (Academic).
International Baccalaureate Diploma;
GCSE / GCEO / IGCSE
(a) Grade C in English Language at GCSE/GCEO;
(b) Grade C in English First Language at IGCSE; or
(c) Grade B in English as a Second Language at IGCSE
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English / Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English
