What will I learn?

The Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) is a vital component of Hong Kong’s economy, serving both the tourism and commercial sectors. Its strategic position in Asia has made it an important regional trans-shipment centre, passenger hub and especially a gateway to other Chinese cities. The aviation industry of Hong Kong is facing the challenge of quality manpower supply in meeting the business expansion in the coming years.

Programme Aims & Features

The programme will facilitate the entry of students into the aviation industry by providing a concrete foundation of aviation operation and management knowledge and skills. Major topics include airline business development and management, airport operations, risk and safety management, air cargo, ground services, flight dispatch and various types of knowledge commonly applied in the day-to-day aviation operations.

This programme aims to nurture the next generation aviation talents by providing professional knowledge and training in aviation, together with practical and transferrable skills related directly to the subject. Topics include airline and airport operations, risk and safety management, air cargo, ground services, flight dispatch, and training that are commonly required in day-to-day aviation operations.

The programme has received tremendous support from the local and international industry to provide internship opportunities for students. Students can also participate in ICAO recognized training courses and field trips at the restricted areas of Hong Kong International Airport, attend training workshops, International Airshow and Conference in Singapore and Australia to broaden their horizons to an international level. Students will also have practical flying experience in local flying school during the Australia Aviation Study trip.

Career Prospects

Many of our graduates are now working for positions such as Aviation Business Analysts, Cadet Pilots, Flight Attendants, Flight Dispatch Officers, Flight Operations Officers, Air Cargo Service Officers, Ground Services and Customer Services Officers at various local and overseas aviation organizations.
