What will I learn?

In a modern and knowledge-based society like Hong Kong, there is a rapidly growing demand for postgraduate training that can facilitate life-long self-improvement and career development through strengthening one's critical thinking and problem-solving skills, sharpening one's perspectives, and broadening social research knowledge.

Against this backdrop, the present programme is designed to respond to the demand by introducing various sociological perspectives and applying them in the analysis of a wide range of social phenomena, covering topics such as individual and society, society and culture, and the social impact of technological and environmental changes.
