Programme Aims
The programme aims to train and produce graduates who can contribute to the extension of knowledge in their chosen subject areas, preparing them for advanced research at the PhD level or professional careers in science and engineering.
Programme Intended Learning Outcomes (PILOs)
Upon successful completion of this Programme, students should be able to:
1. Recognise and discuss the content and methods of their chosen subject areas
2. Apply appropriate research methods and tools to the creation of independent research
3. Formulate and produce applied research in their chosen subject areas
4. Discuss the research process and analyse research findings through communications within the learned community
5. Create knowledge through the process of applied research

Applicants seeking admission to a research degree programme should satisfy the following minimum entrance requirements:
Equivalent qualifications mentioned above include relevant professional qualifications or other scholarly achievements recognised by the University.
Applicants from an institution where the language of teaching is not English should satisfy the minimum English proficiency requirements specified by both the University and individual Colleges and Schools.
